Once again there is lots of news from Los Amigos de Los Niños (LADLN).  We just completed the Gigantic Garage Sale, are beginning our planning for the Jimmy Buffet Beach Party fundraiser and we will talk about the importance of membership. 

GIGANTIC GARAGE SALE

Many thanks to Gwen Bennet, the Chairman of the Gigantic Garage Sale, the sale was a winning event (see video here).  It raised enough money to fund twenty-two 3 year scholarships for Mulegé area CECyT (high school) students. 

Note:   LADLN does not grant a scholarship unless the money is already in the bank to assure incoming students of an educational opportunity.  

This fundraiser is a good deal for everybody in the Mulegé community.  

• Everyone  gets a chance to de-clutter their lives and donate to a good cause.
• The Mexican and foreign communities have a unique shopping experience.
• It helps provide students with scholarships to continue their education.                                   
• It’s a win for everyone! 

A BEACH PARTY 

Be watching for details of our next event scheduled for March 13.  This will be a beach party honoring Jimmy Buffet’s music. It will include lots of Buffet music, cheeseburgers in paradise, plus a cold beer if you wish, beach games, and a rubber parrot drop from an aircraft.

MEMBERSHIP

Finally, a reminder to everyone that your membership dues are an important part of our annual budget  They make up as much as a third of the money we generate for scholarships. This is a chance for all of us to contribute to the Mulegé community in a meaningful way.
