Computers needed for CECyT

In late March, we met with the teaching staff from the Mulegé CECyT (high school/prep school). We asked them a simple question, “What is your greatest barrier in preparing Mulegé Students for graduation? Their reply was clear and unambiguous. Their ten-year-old computers were unable to run the current programs for the various educational sectors. For example, they are not able to run scheduling software in their tourist services sector. Furthermore, the student computer services program is cannibalizing an ever decreasing number of available units for repair parts. Requests to the government for replacement computers have been unsuccessful.

The teaching staff emphasized that they do not need new computers, just better ones – for example a reconditioned HP Z220 Desktop Workstation Tower with Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD would meet their needs. If anyone knows of an organization that can help us purchase new or used computers at a reasonable cost, please contact the Board of Directors at tprahe@yahoo.com.
